The room got uncomfortably hot and muggy. The thermostat was fixed at a 20C minimum, and the aircon switched itself off after a while, even overnight. When I called the front desk, they matter-of-factly said the setting couldn’t be changed. That’s a strange choice for a hotel, and it made for a poor guest experience. There was also a very unsettling incident soon after I checked in. While I was getting out of the shower, a staff member started to enter my room to restock the minibar without first asking if he could come in. Then he asked if I was checking out. It felt strange and unnecessary. After the hotel stored my bags, one came back filthy and dusty, as if it had been thrown onto a dirty closet floor. I asked for a towel to wipe it off and explained why, but the front desk staff seemed put off by the request. Please do better.

We chose The Vibe North Sydney for a day stay on Sunday, March 1st, hoping to relax and celebrate our wedding anniversary. Instead, after lunch a stranger walked straight into our room. The front desk had assigned it to another guest by mistake and given them a working keycard. It was startling to have our privacy and security breached like that, and we spent the rest of the day feeling on edge rather than enjoying a restful break. At checkout, we were told it was a "system glitch," which doesn’t excuse what happened. We’re very disappointed and want a refund to make this right. We emailed the hotel that same night and are still waiting to hear how they’ll prevent this happening to someone else.

The Sydney- inspired décor was lovely, and I really liked the spacious, comfortable room and its view. The pool was great too, and the staff were friendly and attentive. It’s a great spot, about a 30-minute walk to the Opera House. I’d definitely stay again.

We had a nice stay in a disabled friendly room, with a very spacious bedroom and bathroom. The bed and pillows were really comfy. The Metro station is only minutes away, and Woolworths is right next door. There are plenty of lunch options below the hotel, though most close by dinner time. It’s a fair way out from the city centre, but easy to reach by train.

We live in Sydney and booked a stay during the current heatwave because we wanted a relaxing day by the pool. There were no umbrellas when we got there. Reception told us the hotel doesn’t have any, even though the hotel website and Booking.com prominently show several large umbrellas around the pool. They offered no alternative. When we raised concerns about sun exposure and explained that the advertised facilities had influenced our booking, the manager was dismissive, rude and unhelpful. We were shocked by the lack of professionalism and customer service. Guests should be able to rely on amenities a hotel advertises. I wouldn’t recommend this place or return.
