Best Western Plus Hotel Stellar

The kitchenette was handy, and the hotel is within walking distance of Museum station, though not especially convenient for tourist spots. For the Sydney price, it felt roughly on par, but I'd seriously consider another hotel at the same rate. The room was tired and dark, and the place felt bare bones and worn down, more like a 1/2 star hotel. I've stayed in better ibis hotels. Lighting was poor: there were only lights at the kitchenette and beds, leaving the main sleeping area dark. The bedside lights flickered and sparked when switched on or off. There was light by the toilet basin but none in the shower, so showering was in the dark. Cleanliness wasn't great either. I found dead moths by the couch I was sleeping on, saw a live cockroach in the hall, caught a few spiders in our room and crawling on the bed, and found another odd creepy-crawly in the bathroom. Hot water was limited and unreliable. It could go cold after a quick five-minute shower, and we had to turn it off and on again and wait for it to get hot. They advised keeping showers short and leaving time between people so the hot water could refill.

Out of the three Sydney hotels we stayed in, this was absolutely the best. The room was big and clean, with a kitchen, and the staff were great. The location was excellent too.

It's a good option if you're going out late on Oxford St. or nearby. The location and quality help explain why it can be pricey. On both visits, the same man was at the front desk, and he was friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable, with useful amenities and nice views.

I chose this hotel for the kitchen, and the room turned out to be spacious too. It's in a great spot near public transport, with groceries close by. The bed was comfortable, the internet worked well, and staff were friendly and helpful. Muslims looking for halal food can head to nearby Chinatown. Thanks!
