Charing Cross Hotel

A nice spot to unwind with a well-earned drink and something to eat. Tuesday is Parmie night, with a choice for $20, and quiz night was lots of fun too. Highly recommend, 4*. #WHALLOP

After spending the day helping a family member move into the area, we walked over to this family-friendly pub. The young wait staff welcomed us warmly, quickly cleaned a booth, and found a high chair for our baby. Our food arrived all together, and my steak was cooked perfectly. There was live music, but it wasn’t too loud. The renovation fits well with the hotel’s era. Other groups had older kids who were kept busy drawing with paper and pencils the pub had clearly provided. Great atmosphere. Thanks, Team.

The hallway smelled of urine when we were taken to our room after checking in. We tried to look past it since the room seemed okay, but things got much worse when we raised a concern that was distressing us. The staff brushed it aside and told us to deal with it, even though it should have been a serious concern for the hotel. We were treated and spoken to completely unacceptably. The whole stay was dreadful, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The Sunday roast was fantastic. Both the pork and beef were tasty and filling, and there was plenty of mustard to help yourself to. Live music on the pub’s sports side was nicely separated from the quieter, family-friendly dining area, which had a lovely courtyard setting. Highly recommend!
