The Blue Lyrebird makes a great base for exploring nearby walks, from the Three Sisters and Wentworth Falls to the many lookouts. After a day hiking, settling back by the cosy fire in that peaceful atmosphere was lovely. It's also only a short drive from Katoomba's main street, so it feels tucked away without being inconvenient. The views are beautiful. You can have coffee while mist moves through the eucalyptus trees, or a glass of wine with the birds calling. If you're lucky, you might spot a lyrebird. Wendy and John welcomed us warmly and clearly care about their guests having a memorable stay. The property was spotless, tastefully decorated and full of thoughtful details that made it feel like home. It's a lovely choice for a romantic break, a quiet retreat or somewhere to stay while exploring the Blue Mountains. Highly recommended, and I'll be back.

Wendy, who runs things, was one of the kindest and most helpful hosts I've met. She gave me maps and advice about getting around the Blue Mountains and finding good food deals. I spent a week at Blue Lyrebird and loved it. My private room had plenty of luggage space and even a fridge. The shared areas were spacious and quiet, and the kitchen had everything needed to make a nice meal. It's centrally located in Katoomba, just a few minutes' walk from the train station and several pubs and restaurants. I absolutely plan to return. This is the only place I want to stay, and I'd highly recommend it for a great Blue Mountains visit.

I spent 14 months here. It's quiet and comfortable, and the location is great. Wendy and John are always around to help and keep everything running smoothly. Looking forward to coming back 😄

A neat, quiet place that works for both short and long stays. The large open kitchen was great, and the staff were very friendly. Wendy in particular was welcoming and helpful. We really enjoyed our time at Blue lyrebird Katoomba.
