It’s a quiet, comfortable place to stay, and the food is excellent, especially the fish and chips. The soft drinks and alcoholic drinks are fresh too. Service from all the staff is excellent. Most of all, visitors and members treat each other with genuine kindness and friendship, and everyone is respectful. 👍🌺👏🍟🍜🍷🍻

The front desk lady with tattoos was rude and hostile from the moment I arrived. She treated me like an inconvenience, with no greeting or basic respect. I’ve never seen someone in a customer-facing job behave so poorly. It seemed like she didn’t want to be there and was taking it out on customers. If you don’t like dealing with people, maybe don’t work at the front. This unacceptable service completely ruined my experience. Management needs to step in, because behaviour like this drives customers away. I would not recommend Campsie Hotel at all.

Your poker room manager, “Grace,” and the staff under her set a terrible example of customer service. They make patrons feel unwelcome with arbitrary rules, and can take over 20 minutes to bring one Coca-Cola even though it’s a small room. At the first machine we played, no one responded to the drink button for more than 20 minutes. When we moved to another machine and pressed it repeatedly because we thought it wasn’t working, a worker scolded us. It seems they use delay tactics over a “free” non-alcoholic drink that costs them less than 50 cents, while we’re spending more than $500 on their machines, not counting losses over multiple visits. Pathetic. Campsie Hotel is also one of the few poker rooms in Sydney without a non-smoking room, so you’re breathing second-hand carcinogenic smoke while putting up with their disrespectful, poor service.

A late review, but I had a great stay. The staff were kind, and the shared bathrooms were adequate. The room had a swipe card key, a fan, a handy fridge and a selection of teas. Great location too. 10/10, I’d stay again!
