Holiday Inn Express Sydney Macquarie Park by IHG

It's a short walk, about 5-7 minutes, to the train station, so getting into the city centre is easy even though the hotel is a little outside it. There's also a shopping centre with a food court nearby. The room was fairly clean. Breakfast options were a bit limited.

The front desk service from the Indonesian girl was lovely. She seemed quite new, but she was kind and helpful. We stayed in unit 318 over the Christmas holidays, and it was a letdown compared with our previous stay, which had been very good. The pillows smelled of someone else's sweaty stink, so we put them aside rather than use them. The buffet has shrunk too. It used to offer more, but now there was only watery scrambled eggs, bacon, odd-looking sausage and noodles. We skipped breakfast and just had tea. They also no longer give out Christmas cookies during the stay. We do like holiday inn, so it's sad to see things go this way.

I had a really good breakfast with my mother at the Coffee Club, and the hotel's own breakfast was great too. The shower was good, the bed felt like a palace chamber in China, and the screen made for what I felt was the best sleep ever. The food included bacon, vegetarian eggplant and tomatoes with garlic, tropical juices, and a coffee machine that seemed to put coffee in the hot water. The lemon honey tea helped my sore throat. Drinks in the hotel were enough for me, so the Coffee Club being outside didn't matter. Uki was so kind, courteous and polite, and I'll never forget the staff from Mongolia. Kay, you've done very well with the hotel. I wish I could stay more often. But tonight I was asked to leave the lobby even though other people were there. I don't mind being asked to leave, but being scolded just for existing made me feel worthless. I'd rather spend the night at Quest than be treated like dirt in my own country by a man from China. Again, if you're full Asian you'll be welcomed. If you're full Aussie or at least a mix, best to keep clear of this hotel. Thanks for leaving me out in the rain and not offering me accommodation sometime in the future!

The recent renovation looks good, and the staff were friendly and professional with guests. Holiday Inn made a strong impression on me with its management and the way it presents itself to visitors. I felt my money went a long way here. This will be my first choice next time. Thanks, guys.
