Hotel Concord

We arrived for our 5:45pm booking before an event at sydney olympic park. We ordered around 6pm, and the screen said a 35-minute wait. At 6:30, staff came out to say they were closing early at 7:30 and last orders had to be in within 10 minutes. By about 7:15, after waiting over an hour, we asked about our food. They said it was four minutes away, but would come in takeaway containers because they wanted to close and not wash dishes. We had a long walk and needed to get to the game. After waiting longer for the takeaway, we asked for at least a partial refund. The blunt answer was that we could take the food or leave it. Nobody told us when we booked that 5:45 might not leave enough time to get food before their early 7:30 close. Don’t take orders if you can’t serve them on plates, or quote a 35-minute wait when it won’t be that short. Charging full price for meals served without plates, with no cutlery and not even a 10% refund, is unreasonable. They also shouldn’t close with paying customers still waiting. We ended up late to our event, eating salad with our fingers from takeaway containers, including ingredients we’d specifically asked them to leave out. I understand the staff were trying their best and were understaffed, but they can’t just close up and shoo paying customers out with a doggy bag.

The food and drinks were amazing, and the bar staff were 10/10. But the Indian girl with glasses and dark curly hair working the pass on Friday 11th Dec was so rude. No greeting, just a dirty look and not even a nice smile. It doesn’t take much to smile, hun. If you don’t want to be there, don’t work there.

The meals are tasty and reasonably priced, and there’s a broad choice of beer in the spacious main bar. You can watch sports on the TVs, and there are gaming machines and TAB machines as well. Staff are friendly, and it feels like a safe pub to meet friends for a drink. This is a pub, not accommodation. It’s renovated, clean and quite popular, right beside the train station. Best to take the train if you’re planning to have a few drinks.

The food is consistently great, with fresh ingredients, generous portions and loads of flavour. Staff are always attentive and friendly, and the welcoming venue mixes relaxed pub atmosphere with a bit of class. Works well for a casual meal, a night out or getting together with family. Always a pleasure to visit, highly recommend! 🍻✨
