La Maison Boutique

For the price, the rooms were decent, though a bit dated. The bed was uncomfortable because it was two singles pushed together, and the lighting was poor. The bathroom needs a deep clean, and water leaks out under the door. Breakfast should start earlier. We had to go somewhere else.

The Blue Mountains were getting heavy rain, so staying there no longer made sense and I tried to move our night. Booking.com said a date change was possible, but after four calls and three messages to the hotel through the day, I got no response. I had to go to reception in person to ask. They didn’t apologize for missing all those messages or calls, and made no effort to help find a solution. Really disappointing service. I don’t recommend it.

The host was friendly and knew their stuff. The included continental breakfast was free and surprisingly filling. My only niggle was the lack of a table to sit at, and I would’ve liked a bigger fridge.

Ron, the owner of La Maison, took such good care of us and was wonderfully friendly. We loved the old-fashioned hospitality. The location is superb, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Next time we’ll try the Razzle for dinner too. Loved our stay.
