Maclin Lodge Motel

Josie from cleaning was so kind, my daughter called her the sweetest lady on earth 😊. Maddison at reception also looked after us brilliantly, and everything we’d requested was ready when we arrived. We had a great experience staying here. It’s near the station and lots of places to eat, and I’d happily come back if I get the chance. Thanks to everyone.

The room was comfortable and had everything we needed, so the low price turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Staff were really friendly and accommodating too. We needed cutlery for tea, and reception happily sorted us out. Great value, highly recommend, and I’d stay again.

The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the room was spotless. Check-in was very friendly, too. I stayed for New Year’s Eve in Sydney and came away with wonderful memories. The hotel exceeded my expectations, and the train station is only a 10-15 minute walk away, with a direct connection to Sydney city center.

The room smelled bad, with a strong air freshener smell that seemed to be covering it up. The floors were sticky, the bathroom floor felt slimy, and there was old soap left behind. The glasses in the fridge were dirty. We found some dirty plates to use for dinner and a spare broken chair to sit on. The bathroom vanity wasn’t secured properly and shifted when leaned on, and the fridge barely kept our food cold. At least there didn’t seem to be bed bugs. The room was meant for five people but had only three chairs. There were no plates or cutlery apart from two mismatched spoons for three coffee mugs, and no toaster or microwave, just a kettle. An unlocked door led to a storage room full of old junk that reeked of stale cigarette smoke. We stayed one night at Maclin Lodge and wouldn’t return. If cleanliness matters to you, avoid it.
