Mercure Sydney Manly Warringah

We chose the Mercure for an anniversary stay, and my partner and I had a wonderful time. The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. It was also just a short walk to a bus stop, which made trips to the beach and shopping much easier. Staff were attentive and friendly, from the kind woman at reception to the lovely housekeeping team. I highly recommend it if you want a nice place with easy access to the beaches and more. Thanks for having us. 🩵

We managed a decent night's sleep, and the bed was comfortable, so the stay was okay overall. But the cleaning may not have been thorough enough. Some of our clothes got bleach marks after being in the bathroom, which was disappointing. There was mold in the grout between the tiles, so I suspect someone may have used bleach or another strong cleaner to tackle it and not rinsed it off completely. Hopefully the hotel can address this so it doesn't happen to future guests.

We booked online through booking.com, where it was supposedly possible to check in with a 24 hour concierge. We arrived at 11, but they refused to check us in or give us a room because they 'are closed', even though the reservation was non refundable. What a joke, absolute disgrace of customer 'service'. A reminder of why I stopped staying at mercures. Basically $350 taken from us. The customer service person on duty outright lied and said she'd contacted booking.com to cancel, but booking.com has no record of it. What a scummy woman.

The rooms were spacious and clean, and breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere welcoming, and the location just right. I was very impressed and will definitely come back. This place deserves 10 stars.
