Meriton Suites Sussex Street

We stayed for a couple of weeks while settling into Sydney, and the suite worked perfectly for us as a couple. Having a separate bedroom, kitchen area, washer, and dryer made a big difference. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the location right in the city was fantastic. I’d highly recommend it.

We had a nice view of Darling Harbour from our three-bedroom suite at Meriton Suites Sussex Street, and the location was handy for getting to the harbour. But reaching Town Hall means walking uphill, and Circular Quay takes quite a while on foot. It’s in the city centre, but some places still take time to reach, especially with a toddler. The room was only average. There was loose hair and dust on the floor, so we asked housekeeping for a vacuum and cleaned it ourselves. Nearby breakfast options weren’t very family-friendly or open early, so we bought groceries or takeaway sandwiches from local cafes and ate in. For tourists on an extended family stay, I wouldn’t recommend Meriton Suites Sussex Street. It may suit business travellers better.

The kitchen was a lifesaver while travelling with my child, and the facilities were convenient and well maintained. The place was clean and pleasant, and the location made it easy to get around while still feeling quiet and tucked away from city noise. After a lot of deliberation between this and the Hilton Sydney, I’m confident I chose well and am much more satisfied than I think I would have been there. A special thanks to the female staff member who helped me check in early on the morning of April 15th. She was kind and professional. I felt bad that I couldn’t leave a tip, since I only had $100 bills with me. I hope this reaches her so she knows how much I appreciated her help. I’d highly recommend staying here for a comfortable, stress-free visit to Sydney, and I’ll be back without hesitation.

The three-bedroom room my husband surprised our friends and me with was amazing, absolutely spotless, and in a beautiful location. Carrying shopping bags up and down the hills was a regret though, as it’s a bit of a walk to Town Hall and the other shopping areas if you love shopping like us! The two handsome men who helped with our luggage were great, as was reception, especially Leonie. She was only working there for the day, but still gave us recommendations, showed us how to use the lifts (we’re getting old now), and had us laughing. After dreadful service on our overseas travels, her hospitality was a breath of fresh air. It was lovely to be back in Australia at a hotel with staff who didn’t seem to hate everything! We loved our stay and felt safe during a special weekend with friends. The balloon garland made for such hot pics!!! Thanks, Meriton. We’ll stay at meritons again in the future ❤️🏳️‍🌈
