The location was good for getting around, and staff were polite. We liked being able to collect our keys from a locker when we arrived around 11pm. We booked six nights in a studio, which was more or less clean, but the wardrobe was dusty and the hallway smelled like pee all week. It made me feel sick, though thankfully our room didn’t smell. There was no milk, so we couldn’t have a quick hot drink before bed that first night. For stays under seven nights, replacing towels cost extra. We were also disappointed that, despite paying over $200 a night, there was no room cleaning, bed-making, shampoo replacement, tea or coffee top-up, milk, or towel change. I’d have accepted it if it were very cheap. It felt like a two-star hotel. The TV wouldn’t connect properly to the network, even with the Wi-Fi password they provided. The bed was comfortable as long as we both stayed still. When one of us got out, it tipped up. Neither of us is overweight. The studio was more or less clean, but I was so disappointed with the stay. DO NOT STAY HERE if you value your sleep. This was hands down the worst accommodation I’ve ever stayed in. The front desk staff were lovely, but that was the only good part. We booked Napoleon on Kent for one night before our 12-night cruise to NZ, and felt underwhelmed as soon as we arrived. The desk area looked tired and dated. I tried to reserve judgment, thinking that at $400+ a night, the apartment would be nice. It wasn’t. The room was clean, but had only basic amenities and not even a current standard-size TV. I could have put that down to it being just an overnight place to sleep. But sleep wasn’t an option. Sydney’s noise felt like it was right in the room, with partygoers and traffic going on constantly until the early morning. I’ve stayed in other apartments in the heart of a city and never had noise come through like that once the doors and windows were shut. I can’t understand how they charge five-star prices for two-star accommodation. I’ll never recommend or stay here again.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and we got a free upgrade, which was a lovely surprise. Our rooms were spacious and clean, with lots of useful facilities. Some people complained about city or traffic noise, but if general city noise bothers you, get a job, a life, some friends, and a hotel outside the city. I’d definitely recommend this place, 10 out of 10.

An early check-in was a good start, and we had a spacious apartment with comfortable beds, including a fold-out bed in the lounge. Traffic noise was minimal, and Darling Harbour was nearby. There was a small but well-stocked convenience store and a railway station close by too. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel met all our requirements.

A no-frills, serviced apartment that was neat, tidy, and clean. The busy intersection means better blackout blinds might help with the lights. Still, the kitchen and bathroom are a good size, and it’s good value for money, especially with Barangaroo close by.
