I booked a few weeks at Parade Lodge for a friend who needed to be near UNSW for work. It's run by a lovely family who'll do what they can to make your stay enjoyable. Just keep in mind that it's budget accommodation, so it won't suit anyone expecting a six-star palace. The property is on busy, noisy Anzac Parade, so light sleepers should ask for a room at the back.

I'm staying here now, and it feels quite homely. The manager and his family are very friendly and cooperative, and he even helped me find local amenities and an eye specialist. The hotel is good enough for bachelors and close to the Uni, a cafe, supermarkets and eateries. There's a nice communal kitchen. I'd recommend it for students and single professionals on a short stay.

I stayed here for two months as an exchange student at UNSW. The landlord is a really nice older man who took good care of the young students, and the attendants were very helpful. The bus stop is right outside, and UNSW is within walking distance.

It's a pretty run-down place, and expensive for the standard. The location is really convenient, with public transport right outside and parking on site. The rooms and shared facilities are very basic but clean. The owner makes you feel as if letting you stay there is a favour.

Parking and the short distance to UNSW were handy. The bed was comfortable, though on the small side. A no-frills place that worked fine for a night's sleep.
