Pioneer Way Motel

A nice, clean and comfortable room in a great spot. It has that old-school Aussie Motor Inn feel, and the older bloke running it clearly takes pride in the place.

I’m writing for my in-laws, who stay here regularly. They especially praise the staff, who are always helpful when needed. The rooms are basic but consistently clean and well-priced, with shops and a few places to eat conveniently close by. The local owners go the extra mile.

We stayed one night in the Executive Room and really liked it. It was a handy stop on our trip, close to Norman Lindsay Gallery and Arrana (fabulous food) at Springwood.

The room quality was good enough that I’d be happy to return. I’d been recommended the place by a relative and had a spacious ground-floor “Deluxe Queen” room that looked newly renovated and was almost spotless. Service was efficient and very friendly. It was easy to find, though the highway noise was considerable, as other reviewers have mentioned. The lock felt secure, but there was no door chain, so I put things against the door at night. It seemed pricey compared with nearby options, maybe because I booked a Friday night. TV reception was very patchy, but that didn’t bother me much for an overnight stay. The guest laundry was available by arrangement with management, and I think it was upstairs.
