Spicers Potts Point

The rooms were very quiet, and the bathroom was spacious with a huge shower. Staff offered some great local suggestions that helped fill my time. It's a lovely, casual place to stay, with plenty of food options nearby and wonderful walks to the harbor and Royal Gardens.

I arrived exhausted and a little disoriented after more than 24 hours of travel, and the staff were very kind and attentive. My room was ready early, so I could relax straight away. Thanks to Joanne, Lana and Charles for accommodating the extra week I stayed. I came to Sydney almost on a whim, after this hotel was highly recommended, and I can see why. It's elegant boutique lodging in a residential neighborhood, rather than a grand scale hotel. Kings Cross train station is a short walk away, which is a huge plus. Getting there after I arrived was harder than I planned, but that was completely my fault. The place felt more like a home away from home. I highly recommend it.

The service at Spicers was unbelievably good. They let us order off menu for our fussy toddler at breakfast and make changes to our own orders. I also liked the cute little bar and breakfast setup downstairs. The stained and less hygienic carpet could do with replacement, since I personally dislike carpeted hotel rooms unless there's a shoes off policy. Finding dried blood on one of our bed covers was a real blow. We put it outside the room and told the staff, who dealt with it quickly. I'd strongly encourage Spicers to replace the bed linen and the bath towels too, as they looked old and tatty.

We arrived hours early, and they were able to accommodate us. The staff were incredibly friendly, the place was so clean and cute, and breakfast was delicious. It's in a very cute neighborhood, with several cafes nearby and The Rocks and Sydney Opera House within walking distance.
