Stoke Beach House - Hostel

I’ve stayed in around 30 hostels and I’m usually not fussy. This one has good perks, including ways to get free drinks, free breakfast and surfboards, and it’s a great place to visit if your friends are staying there. But the rooms are unbearably hot for sleeping. I wanted three decent nights and slept worse than I have in years. You shouldn’t need to buy fans and sleeping pills just to get a good night’s rest, so I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

I loved this hostel. It’s clean, bright and social, with fun events and a beautiful design, right by the beach. I made friends for life, and staying here made my trip. I honestly can’t fault it. If you’re coming to Sydney, this is the place!

Fantastic hostel with super friendly staff and lots of free activities. Someone should put rails around it so we can worship the place like Buddhist monks. Highly recommended.

The location made everything easy, with the beach, shops, pubs, gyms, restaurants and ferry wharf all just a street away. Our private twin room was roomy, clean and had really comfortable beds. The women's bathrooms were modern and spotless, and there was a great hair dryer to use for free. I also liked the homely little touches. Breakfast was included, with good yoghurt, pastries, fruit, bread, cereal and coffee. The kitchen and communal space felt modern, and closing at 11pm meant nights stayed quiet. Great value too. I loved my stay and would happily come back.
