The Boutique Hostel

I’d give this zero stars if I could. I booked and paid for several nights, but couldn’t reach the accommodation, and the online booking business couldn’t contact the manager either. When we arrived, the place looked decommissioned: there was no sign, metal bars and cardboard covered the windows, and nobody answered the front door bell. People at the nearby bar and neighbouring businesses said they’d never heard of the accommodation. We called the booking business and had to get a full refund. I was afraid we’d be stabbed if we stayed. I took a photo as proof, but can’t seem to upload it here.

My booking was cancelled just as I was about to check in, supposedly because of “flood damage.” It hadn’t rained in Sydney for two weeks, and I’d had no communication about this during that time. I then had to spend extra time and money travelling to a real hotel. There’s no direct phone line to the property either. I had to get through three separate prerecorded messages before being given a mobile number. This is clearly a scam, in my view. I’d give it zero stars if I could. Avoid it at all costs.

Everything felt new, clean, and fresh. The internet was fast, and the location was great.

The place was clean, the kitchen was nice, and the host was friendly.
