Falls Mountain Retreat

The apartments are getting a little tired, but we'd definitely come back. The hot tub was amazing after eight hours tramping in the Blue Mountains. It's a peaceful spot just over an hour from Sydney, with an amazing location, very friendly, happy staff and good value for money.

It's a lovely, quiet spot, and I was happy with the room despite it being a little dated. Parking is a bit awkward for some units, though not all. There were lots of steep internal steps up to the room, so if mobility is an issue, check when booking.

We stayed here during Covid and really liked it then, but this time the place was dilapidated and tired, nowhere near what the word “luxury” in the name suggests. Our rooms had folded, worn carpets, mould on the blackout curtains, old furniture and an old bathroom with cracked walls and a peeling washbasin stand. The outside of the property needs an overhaul too, with paint peeling off the walls. It's sad, and not worth $300+ a night or more in peak time. We won't return. We were given loft-like rooms and hadn't realised the connecting door on the ground-floor room leading up to ours had no lock. The people below could open it directly into our room, and we could hear the door being opened. We were two women staying alone, and it didn't feel comfortable or safe. It wouldn't have felt okay either way.

We really enjoyed staying in this nice town. It was very close to the trailheads and lots of hiking trails.
