The Select Inn Penrith

The motel was quiet overnight, with no noisy guests, kids or parties, and we slept really well. We did hear occasional outside noise during the night from the main road and nearby railway, so light sleepers might want earplugs. We had a pleasant one-night stay at The Select Inn Penrith. Check-in was smooth, the front desk staff were welcoming, and we got a lovely surprise when they upgraded us to a double queen room. It was newly renovated, clean and well presented, with very comfortable beds, clean sheets and a spotless bathroom with the necessary accessories. Our room was next to the pool, which made access easy, and parking was close and convenient. We were very happy with the stay and would recommend The Select Inn Penrith for a comfortable, well-managed visit.

I’ve stayed here lots of times between 24/25 because I needed to be based in the Riff, not for a holiday. I just saw a sledge about it on Instagram and couldn’t disagree more. The staff are lovely, and they moved me to the second floor when I asked. The bed, pillows, air conditioning, soaps and shampoo, and internet were all good. I never used the TV, but saw people having a great time with their kids in the pool. It’s an easy walk to the Log Cabin, with good parking for pickups and easy food delivery. No shade from me. I’d recommend it.

EDIT: The manager, whose name I couldn’t even get the night before, called me back in the morning and was amazing. Thank you so much. My problem wasn’t that I couldn’t get a room, it was the extra stress and confusion of ending up with two bookings I didn’t want and no help at first. I called on 6/6/26 in the afternoon after accidentally booking the wrong date online through the hotel’s own website. The website just directed me to call them. I spoke to an incredibly rude woman who said there was nothing she could do and that I had to go through the website. It was confusing and stressful when I was just trying to find somewhere to stay, and I was really disappointed by the lack of care or empathy. Just before she hung up, I heard her yell something about me. She told me to call back the following day and speak to the manager, but wouldn’t even give me the manager’s name. It was shocking customer service, and took 30 minutes and two calls of going round in circles. Calling my bank to dispute the transaction was actually faster.

The room was much cleaner and better kept than I expected, which matters most to me, and we had a great time using the pool in the afternoon. The Select Inn Penrith was good value for the price, especially for the location. It’s a short trip to the Panthers Club or iFly. I’d stay here again for a simple, comfortable and affordable visit to Penrith.
