Sundown Villas

The place was beautiful, with a nice setting near the mountain ranges, and the service was really good. Our school went there on an excursion, and the floor was tidy when we arrived, though we made it a little messy ourselves. The food was great apart from the scrambled eggs, which were tasteless and had a weird texture. Sorry! One window in our room had a massive, um, poop-looking thing on it. I liked the maintenance staff. They were so nice, offering pasta and then bringing it over. Hope this helps!

Students were left hungry, and kitchen staff refused requests for more food. Meanwhile, staff were seen packing leftover food into containers to take home, even though the school community had paid for it. The accommodation itself was old, outdated, and badly maintained. Rooms were dirty, beds were falling apart, there were cockroaches, no hot water, and mould on the shower curtains. The food service was far below what school groups should expect. Our experience was appalling and well below acceptable standards for student accommodation and catering. Schools considering this venue should look elsewhere. We certainly won't return.

Check-in was quick, the staff were easygoing, and each villa has a parking spot right by the front door, which made unloading from the boot easy. I called Sundown Villas directly and got a better price than the online booking site. It's a quiet place in a tranquil setting with mountain views, and a short drive to fyshwick markets, local cafes and kingston. The rooms are dated, though they've been freshly painted and some shower tiles have been replaced. Fine for resting or sightseeing most of the day. The TV was good, I loove the tennis court, and the pool was alright but could've been cleaner. A good stay for the price.

The shower was great, though the bathroom itself was nothing special. The kitchenette works for simple cooking, and the aircon runs but isn't especially good. The beds are comfortable, but in one bedroom the bed pretty much filled the room. A decent enough three star place, basic and good value, though not amazing.
