Murray Bridge Motor Inn

The rooms were clean when we arrived, but our three-night stay, Thursday to Sunday, at the Murray Bridge Motor Inn was uncomfortable and disappointing. We jokingly called it the “Murder Inn.” We received fresh towels only once, just two small bars of soap and one tiny shampoo/conditioner bottle, and there were no top-ups or room cleaning apart from the bin being emptied. We didn't speak with the owner ourselves. A family member staying there collected our keys and told us the owner was grumpy and complained about our 7 pm arrival, even though the website and reviews say the office stays open later. There was no outdoor lighting at night, which made the place feel unsafe. More unsettling, the owner apparently entered rooms while guests were out, ours included, without a clear reason or any housekeeping. We heard another guest yell when he walked into their room while they were still inside. He said he thought it was empty. The showers have signs limiting use to four minutes, but most of that time is spent waiting for the water to heat. Clean rooms aside, the poor service and communication, along with the generally creepy feeling, mean we wouldn't recommend or repeat the stay.
