The dogs were cute and asleep, and the bar staff were friendly and helpful. Still, the evening was disappointing given how much potential this place has. We’d been told it was a must for the food, views and dogs, so we came for an early meal on a quiet night. Our reserved table for two was beside the fireplace in the middle of the room, even though there were lots of empty tables with the gorgeous view. The waitress just pointed it out and said, “That’s your table.” Ordering felt impersonal too. We were told the menus were over there and that we had to order and pay at the counter. It didn’t feel like much service on such a quiet night. Since it was warm, we moved outside, carrying our drinks, water and cutlery. Several tables needed wiping down; we picked one and had to find someone to clean it. The food was pretty ordinary. Everyone was friendly, but the service was lacking.

This was my mother's favourite place when she lived in Queensland, so I couldn’t think of anywhere better for the family to gather before my little sister’s wedding. There was great service at the bar, and the seating by the fire for drinks is gorgeous. The pub food was amazing, from steak to fish, everything just right. We shared lots of laughs and stories and brought back old memories. To top it off, the two St Bernard's dogs were sleeping comfortably until two workers stopped to give them some love. Everything about this beautiful pub and hotel felt just right.

We make the trip up from Brisbane for lunch as a family, and the views from the outdoor dining area are amazing. There are cozy spots inside when it’s chilly, too. Good food and drinks, plus EV chargers right out front. Would recommend.

Bec made our wedding day feel completely stress-free. From the start she was calm, organised and supportive, and on the day she did far more than coordinate: she fixed my dress, helped set out the flowers, took photos and kept everything running smoothly. We’re so grateful to her and the team. The venue at St Bernard’s Hotel was a beautiful backdrop, with incredible views, and Jo’s canapés and meals were delicious. Our guests are still talking about the food. We couldn’t have picked a better place to get married, and highly recommend St Bernard’s Hotel, Bec and her team.
