The Cottages

We found the best sunrise view right from the verandah, after driving around Tamborine looking for one. Cockatoo Cottage was a real treat for our two-night wedding anniversary stay, lovely and inviting, with all the comforts of home. We can't wait to visit again.

For a one-night stay, it had everything we needed, and it was roomier than we'd expected. The bed was comfortable, and the fireplace made the place feel especially welcoming. It's a clean, tidy, comfortable little self-contained home, in a handy spot for exploring Tamborine Mountain. Everything was easy and hassle-free. We'd recommend it and would gladly stay again.

We booked three of the four Cottages while we were there. It was so quiet, properly dark at night, and full of wildlife. The owners leave the keys on the table for you when you arrive, so you're left to yourself. I'd like to stay again one day.

We ended up adding two more nights because none of us wanted to leave. The grounds and view were a lovely surprise in the morning, with a cockatoo eating at the balcony feeder. On walks with our pup, we met horses, ponies, sheep, and the two goats, Tom & Jerry. My son and Husky loved seeing them each morning and evening before breakfast and dinner. There are trail walks, waterfalls, treetop walks, bars, restaurants, cafes, and even a public outdoor pool about a 15-minute walk away. The cottage felt luxurious and stylish but still like home. The bed was beautifully made, the dining and lounge layout worked perfectly, and the bathroom spa was a big surprise my 12-year-old made full use of. We also loved lighting the fireplace for father-and-son time, then warming up while using the deck BBQ. This stay only happened because another accommodation had double-booked us for my son's 12th birthday weekend, with our 3-year-old Husky coming along too. Late on Friday, with my son in tears and me trying to stay calm, I found The Cottage on Mount Tamborine by chance. It was very late, but I called anyway. Sianne immediately put me at ease, understood the situation, and said she'd arrange something. She called back a few moments later and we were on our way. It was dark when we arrived, so we only saw everything the next morning. We felt at home as soon as we walked in. I can't fault the place, and can't thank Sianne enough.
