The restaurant isn't dog-friendly, which was a real letdown for me. The website makes a big point of being pet-friendly, but that doesn't include the cafe. They allow pets in the rooms and there's plenty of outdoor seating, so it seems like a fail. They should say this clearly on the website instead of drawing people in and leaving them disappointed, as I was.

The bar staff were the complete opposite of the kitchen: friendly, polite, and very helpful. It's a great place for a drink and to relax, but not for a meal. The food was disgraceful, never again. I usually don't send food back, but this was so bad that I asked for my money back, and the head cook had an extremely bad attitude. I'd give the kitchen zero stars if I could, and the bar staff five.

My wife had the lemon pepper squid and had indigestion for an hour afterwards. I paid $30 for fish, chips, and salad, but couldn't eat the fish. It was dry, tough, nowhere near fresh, and the batter was rock hard in places. When I broke one piece in half, liquid dripped out. The salad was a few wilted leaves and a couple of cherry tomatoes. Extremely disappointing and expensive. They won't get us again.

The Tannum sands hotel team made our 60th birthday night amazing from beginning to end. We couldn't fault a thing, and everyone commented on the delicious platters: fresh, tasty, a great variety, and plentiful. Special thanks to our event coordinator Tahlia and Erin. They kept in touch throughout and made the whole night easy. Highly recommend.

We go every Sunday and just love this place. Great food, a great view, and live music, with friendly staff, especially Tahlia. Senior meal deals would be great in the future. Love the vibe!
