There was loads of room, and the place was spotless, tidy, and had everything you could need, right down to toothpicks and a nail file. The only thing I would’ve liked was ceiling fans in the bedrooms. My parents, who are in their 70s, found stepping into the bath to shower a bit hard, though it wasn’t a big deal. Thanks to the Base Down family for making us feel so welcome. We’d absolutely stay again and recommend it.

We were so lucky to find this place. It had everything we needed, with a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom, and we didn’t need to bring a thing. The Tim Tam's and Barossa milk were a lovely touch. Coming in to find the lamps on and audio TV playing felt just like home, and I’ve already told friends about it. Just a note, the shower is over the bath, which might be tricky for some visitors.

We stayed 12th -14th Feb 2025, and I only wish we’d been able to stay longer. The bedrooms were roomy, with lovely bedding and extra blankets and pillows, and the modern sofas and furniture made the living room very comfortable. The aircon and bedroom fans were already on when we arrived, so the house was nice and cool. Louise even got in touch to say we could arrive much earlier if we wanted to. Her attention to detail was above and beyond, from the Tim Tams, milk, tea, coffee and sugar to napkins, cleaning supplies, toiletries and beautiful house plants. The kitchen and bathroom decor is dated, but we didn’t mind. It gives the home some character and history. Everything was clean and tidy, the hot water was lovely, and the modern appliances and amenities covered everything we needed and more. This was by far the best 'budget' accommodation we’ve stayed in, great value for money and much better than the label suggests. It’s a fabulous little gem, so comfortable, spotless and close to shops and restaurants. We really enjoyed Louise’s lovely home and will definitely return.

The cosy feel and indoor plants made the place feel like home. You can tell a lot of care and thought has gone into it. We had an excellent stay and hope to come back.
