Abs by the Bay

We really liked spending time in the garden by the water. The hosts were so friendly and helpful, and we absolutely enjoyed our stay.

The waterfront was a highlight for us, especially the views and sunset. We found the place quiet despite being just off the main road, with only the local birds making much noise. Our room had everything we needed, and the surroundings were beautifully kept. The personalised welcome signs were a lovely touch when we arrived. Simon was warm and helpful without hovering. It’s an easy place to find, and we’d gladly stay at Abs by the Bay again if we’re back on the Tasman Peninsula. We’d also recommend it to family and friends.

The garden was such a peaceful spot, and the backyard opens onto a lovely bay where we could sit with tea or coffee and watch the sunrise or sunset. Abs by the Bay is also close to the historical city of Port Arthur, which made it a handy base for exploring. We stayed two nights. Our room was the smallest, as Simon mentioned, but it was set up so thoughtfully that it didn’t feel cramped. It was cosy, spotless, and equipped with useful things like a kettle, cutlery, and a little washing bucket. The bathroom gets lovely natural light, so we didn’t need the lights in the daytime. Everything was clean and tidy. Simon was kind and attentive. He had even arranged Mentos in the room for our arrival, shared practical information about local shops and restaurants, including hours and booking needs, and let us pick fresh fruit from his garden. A wonderful, welcoming stay, and we’d recommend it to anyone wanting a clean, comfortable place to relax and explore.

We spent three nights in the one-bedroom Tasman Unit and had everything we needed. It’s in a great spot for getting to all the peninsula sights, and watching the sunset down by the water was a lovely end to the day. Simon and Hilary were welcoming, friendly hosts who made sure we had what we needed. We’d definitely return. Many thanks!
