Tenterfield Royal Hotel Motel

We chose two rib eyes, both medium, but mine came out overcooked. At $50 each, I was really disappointed, especially since we'd come from the Gold Coast and expected the steak to be much better. I didn't complain because they were so busy. The drinks were reasonably priced, and I definitely recommend the Granite Belt wine selection. We hadn't stayed there, but came for Valentine's Day dinner. The friendly, helpful staff and live music while we waited for our reservation made for a great atmosphere. It was packed, with hardly any seats, and the beer garden out back was pretty.

We had a fantastic time. The rooms were great and the restaurant food very good. Sharon was a wonderful host. She and her husband took a big gamble buying and renovating the property during COVID, and they've done a great job.

We finished all four entrees, fries, wings, brie with honey, and chorizo and prawns. Every dish was amazing, and we'd come back. We went for dinner on Sunday night, 4/1/26, and were able to bring our dog along, which was the best part. The man at the bar was lovely and let us try the great range of craft beers. The woman handling accommodation showed me around and explained the pub's history.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, and we slept perfectly after a delicious meal. From the moment we arrived, the room felt lovely, with a great en-suite. We couldn't recommend The Royal highly enough and would definitely stay again in a heartbeat.
