We went into lockdown at 5pm on Saturday 14th August for 7 days. When I found out, I called at 3pm to explain I couldn’t make the following Wednesday’s one night stay. I left a message with the woman working at the shop, who said she’d pass it to the owners, and I also followed up by email. There was no reply for at least 2 days. I wasn’t asking for a refund, just to move the booking, since it was meant to be a special night on my partner’s 50th road trip. They flatly refused to change the accommodation to another date, and I lost the full amount I’d paid upfront. I even got bookings.com to ask them directly about rescheduling. Their responses were rude. I’ll never book with them again or recommend the accommodation. If COVID sticks around, beware: they won’t reschedule or refund, and they’ve lost my faith in the industry. They need to get with the times instead of being greedy and taking people’s money.

There are so many lovely spots to sit and relax, and the garden is really lovely. It’s a quiet, private location, with an easy walk to shops, food and parks. My husband and I found the bed very comfortable, and having Netflix on the bedroom TV was a nice surprise. The claw foot bath was incredibly peaceful. It has a perfect homey and boutique feel, and everything you need is provided, so you only need to pack your toothbrush. We highly recommend this accommodation.

We didn’t end up staying because I was too unwell to travel. I called two days before to discuss it but never got a return call. Within hours of the free cancellation cut off, I asked for a credit and Julie & Stephen flatly said no. I find that heartless and uncaring, and a disgusting way to do business. Everyone is suffering at this time, but this is no way to treat people. Karma will come for you, and I wish you the very worst luck possible. I’d advise potential guests to reconsider booking here.

Flooding had cut off the road down from Queensland, so we couldn’t make our booking. They wouldn’t reschedule even under those circumstances. Dreadful people.

Beware, they flatly refused my request to change the dates because of border closures or lockdowns. Book at your own risk.
