Nature Domes

The rain gave us a good excuse to curl up on the beanbags with a book and look out over the forest and valleys. The domes are roomy and thoughtfully designed, the beds are really comfortable, and there are plenty of useful supplies, including firewood, a BBQ and head torches. The bathrooms and showers were very decent too. We wanted a quiet weekend together before my surgery, since travelling will be difficult for me for the next year. Cardia was especially considerate about that and offered us a more accessible dome, which we really appreciated. She also made sure we had what we needed for the sauna. Sitting there at sunset was magical. We were happy spending time around the domes and visiting nearby towns. It was a lovely way to step away from everyday busyness and reconnect in the hinterland. We'll have to come back when it's not raining so we can feed the animals!

The stars were incredible, and the dome had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We had a great getaway with my partner, with a fire pit, BBQ and hot tub all there to enjoy. Can't fault the facilities. Highly recommend if you're looking to escape into nature.

The hosts, Cardia and her team, somehow manage to be there for everything without getting in your space. Their buggy is constantly ferrying people around, delivering food and lighting fires. That balance is spot on. And up at the property, the animals are part of the scenery: goats, alpacas, donkeys, chooks, dogs and plenty of wildlife. The Greenhouse Pavilion is a whole other highlight. It's a striking event space in nature, with a lake, a great atmosphere and music once things get going. Aussie glam with an eclectic feel, and so many thoughtful details. I can see it working for weddings, parties, hens or other special events. We had a cocktail van, 10/10, with a very easy-on-the-eye cowboy making fantastic botanical drinks, followed by an incredible local Vietnamese meal. It's about 40 minutes from Wauchope. You could stop at Long Flat Pub on the way and make a day of it. On Sunday morning, I got a buggy ride up to the ridge for a massage. The sauna looks over the hills, and there are ice baths if that's your thing. Ebony, the therapist, found every knot and left me completely relaxed. The domes are a great way to switch off while staying comfortable. There are water bottles on the bed, fresh beans to grind, and proper cooking and dining setups, plus plunge pools and wood-fired baths. The grounds are spread out for privacy but still easy to get around. And the drive down Toms Creek Road gives you that fresh country air, with a sweet whiff of cow poo and the occasional cow slowing you down. A proper country welcome. It's the kind of place that works for couples, groups or families, whether you're after a weekend away or planning a celebration. You can feel the love that's gone into every part of it. The outdoor mountain-view massage with Caroline was pure bliss, and her French dinner in the forest was exquisite, delicious gourmet food that had our tastebuds dancing with every bite. We loved stargazing from the outdoor wood-fired spa, relaxing on the deck among the trees and parrots, and meeting the alpacas, mini goats and adorable CEO Charlie pup. Our glamping dome had all the creature comforts, too. Cardia helped me plan and personalise every detail of my little escape for my 50th birthday, starting from the first booking call. Her warm, attentive hospitality made the whole stay feel special. Thank you so much, Cardia, Caroline and Charlie. I'll treasure those magical birthday memories, and I'm already looking for an excuse to come back!
