We were completely taken with Abington Briar Cottage. The garden was calm and lovely, and the spa made the stay feel extra special. Inside, it was warm, comfortable, spotless, and full of thoughtful touches. The Google photos really don't capture how beautiful it is. Linda was wonderful to deal with before we arrived, and even mailed back something we accidentally left behind. We'll be back. Thanks, Linda! Pamela and David

We'd been impressed enough by Abington Briars Cottage on our first visit to return, and the location is still beautiful. But our second stay ended badly. After we'd checked out on time, I was having breakfast at a café in Foster when Linda called, upset and demanding to know where a small plastic piece from the shower screen was. I hadn't seen it and tried to explain, but she spotted it on the bathroom windowsill and accused me of being dishonest before hanging up. My wife later told me she'd found it on the floor during our stay and put it on the sill because she didn't know what it was. Linda also said I should have told her about the shower door's magnetic strip slipping. That was hard to hear when she'd never responded to my call or text about the power going out on our first night of a three-night stay, or to my follow-up text saying it had come back on. We had no personal contact with her during the stay, only that call after we left. We're a couple in our 60s and have stayed at plenty of B & B’s around Victoria over the years. We've never had a host speak to us that way. It spoiled the birthday getaway I'd arranged for my wife. Christmas can be stressful, but that doesn't excuse the aggression or accusation.

It felt like a little piece of heaven, one of the most beautiful places I've been. The woman who looks after the cottage was very nice, and the decorating was exquisite.
