The owner was kind and helpful, which is a shame because this small, family-style hostel has a lot of potential. I know it's a hostel, but cleaning once a week, if that even counts as cleaning, isn't enough. I'm surprised by the other reviews. The general atmosphere and the quality of the accommodation are different things. In our private room, there was hair on the wardrobes, floor and bedsheets when we arrived, and the fridge was dirty too. In the kitchen, the sink stayed full all week, it was almost impossible to find a fork, and we had to wash the pots, pans and plates before using them. The toilets often hadn't been flushed and had traces of poop, with really unpleasant smells. The handwashing sink had hair left after people shaved, there were dirt splashes on the mirrors, and the showers were dirty. Bring flip-flops. The price is affordable, but that doesn't make this level of dirt okay.

I felt safe leaving my belongings in the room or kitchen and never had any trouble. The hostel is near a small shopping centre with several stores, and the manager was professional and quick to help whenever something came up. Thanks, Ali!

The rooms are fine and the place is generally clean, with a big kitchen and a living room that has a huuuge TV. It feels more like a lively shared flat, and I met lots of nice people. Toowoomba seems to be where you go when you need to earn or save money without much chance to spend it, or when you still need your 88 days and are running out of time. The manager is great to communicate with. Text him with a question or if you need something, and he always tries to find the best solution. If you make your way to Toowoomba, you know where to stay :)

It's affordable, most people are nice, and the manager is very gentle and good.

Good value at $50 per night or $150 per week, with friendly staff you can contact at any hour. There's a jobs board in the foyer for seasonal work nearby, and wifi and plenty of off-street parking. It's best to come in person to have a look and book. The hostel is in peaceful North Toowoomba, within walking distance of North Point shopping centre and its Coles, Newsagency, Aldi, Priceline Chemist, Subway, pizza cafes, restaurants, bakery, art and craft shops and Reject shop. Parks and Toowoomba cycledrome are nearby too. Room options include eight-bed dorms and single rooms. The rooms have comfortable bunks, linen, blankets, pillows, a bar fridge and cupboard space. Facilities include a large, well-equipped kitchen, games and lounge room with comfy leather sofas, a huge TV and dining table, plus showers, toilets, laundry and outdoor tables. There's also a large grassy yard with x2 hills hoists.
