It’s in a great spot in the Shelly Beach area, with direct access across the road to the beach and bay. There are beach showers, shaded picnic tables, and amenities there, and it’s a nice place to sit and eat takeaway while watching the water. The pier area, shops, and bars are a 2 km walk, and there’s a bus stop out front. The pool in the centre has lots of shade, and the reception girls are super helpful and friendly. Rooms can be a bit dated depending on which one you get, but ours was very clean, tidy, and well equipped.

Our room was spacious and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a large complex with plenty of rooms and on-site parking. There’s a restaurant on site and a pool guests can use. Beach access is just across the road, which explains the name.

Our room was out the back on the ground floor, and the bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable. The rest was good: the rooms are spacious and clean, with heaps of parking, and it was quiet. The kitchenette had a hotplate, microwave, kettle, utensils, and everything needed to cook a meal. It’s beachfront and within walking distance of a great Italian restaurant. The spa was lovely and very clean, and there was a lovely pool too.

We were in Hervey Bay unexpectedly while a loved one was unwell, so during Easter week we had to book one day at a time. The Beach Motel staff handled a very busy period with ease and professionalism, and couldn’t have been more helpful in fitting us in. Our family is so grateful for their kindness. They made a stressful time into a lovely stay.

The pool was amazing, even at 9am it was the perfect temperature, and it has a spa in it too. The location worked really well for everything we needed. We only needed a budget room, and it was wonderfully clean. The housekeeping staff do an amazing job. Fantastic motel.
