Central Holborn Apartments

Room 60 was a lovely corner room, quiet even with a concert on at the stadium. We enjoyed our stay, and it was good value for the location. The cleaning could be better, though. There were red cordial or alcohol drips down the kitchen doors, stains on the carpet, and general wear on the walls, carpets, and doors.

The room wasn't especially clean, with dust on the ceiling and some of the fixtures. The location was great and made it easy to get around.

We booked two nights but left after one, very disappointed. Apartment 78 had a terrible damp smell, so I asked to move. In apartment 56, the floors were so dirty we had to wash our feet again before bed. The bedroom air conditioners barely worked and were missing their remotes, while the living area unit couldn't keep up at all. It was constantly hot. Opening the veranda doors helped, but there were no screens and bugs came in. We had stayed here before without any problems, but we won't be back.

We spent six nights over Christmas with three families in three separate apartments. The pool was the only good part, though the spa sounded like a jet taking off. The apartments are only five years old, yet they seemed never to have been maintained or cleaned regularly. With all the poor reviews, you'd think management would improve things. Stay somewhere else. The air conditioners were filthy, with water pouring from some; another apartment's unit didn't work at all. Kitchens were barely equipped: one had just two spoons and two dinner plates. We had to put everything through the dishwasher before using it because the drawers and cupboards, even the cutlery tray, were dirty. The cushions, bedspreads, and doonas were stained, and the doonas had no covers, just a sheet on either side. The couch was disgustingly stained and not fit to sit on. My kids said it looked like a dirty dog bed, and I wouldn't let my dog sleep on it. Floors left our feet black and grimy, so we had to wear shoes indoors. There wasn't a vacuum or mop for us to clean with.
