The rooms are a bit older, but they’re well looked after, the shower was hot and the bed comfortable. Service was wonderful, and our lovely host gave us ideas for somewhere to eat after the Wallabies v Argentina rugby match. I’d stay again. Just be ready for the uphill walk back after a few drinks, it’ll test you!

The owners were easy to talk to and really friendly and understanding. They even lent us tools and trays for a BBQ. It’s also not far from either the city or the beach. Honestly, this is the best place to stay in Townsville, and I’d recommend it to anyone who asks where to stay. Five stars from me.

At night there’s a nice view of Castle Hill from the room. It was spacious and very neat, with a handy little kitchenette, a generous fridge and a microwave. The welcome felt warm and friendly too.

Our huge pet friendly room, room # 2, came with a lovely outdoor area and a fabulous Castle Hill view, just right for an afternoon drink. There was a very large bathroom and a full size fridge too. Customer service was lovely. They were doing some painting and other renovations during our stay, and we wish the owners well with the work. We’d definitely stay again when we’re in Townsville.

The room was comfortable enough, though I guess you get what you pay for. Found a couple of home-made bongs under the sink, which wasn’t great. Check in was easy, the staff were friendly, and it’s a short walk downhill to the city centre.
