The broken lights and dead cockroaches under my bed really summed it up. I stayed here for a school camp sometime in November, and the place fell well short of what I’d hoped for. The mini fridge leaked over the food I put inside. There was mould on the shower head and grout, the pool was green, and the food was extremely oily and barely seasoned. Two friends found lipstick stains on their pillows, one bed was broken, and another had a comforter with a yellow stain. I wouldn’t come here unless you want to be right by the highway with roadkill around and a terrible night.

We chose this as a quick stop on the drive to Sydney, and being outside Canberra made for an easy getaway in the morning. We certainly left early. The room didn’t feel clean, and I didn’t want to touch much or use the shower. There was a fly in the bathroom. The bunk bed frame was broken, though my son could still sleep on it. We got takeaway from Dickson and ate in the room because the restaurant wasn’t open, which was probably for the best. Check-in was fine and the staff member we met was friendly, but he was the only staff member we saw. The rooms were confusing to find; on the way to ours, we saw a pillow and shirt on the ground by a water pipe. We skipped the pool after looking at it, and the playground didn’t look safe either. There was a signpost on the road as we drove away after checking out. Even at a very low price, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Ritesh at the front desk was helpful and professional, even though we arrived after closing time. The stay was good value, but our room was noticeably dirty and the fixtures were very old and worn. It could do with maintenance and improvement.

I stayed just one night. The rate was satisfactory, though the floor looked like it had been missed during vacuuming and cleaning. The area has a real jungle feel, away from the concrete jungle. It may not suit you if you don’t have your own vehicle. For what I paid, it was an okay stay.
