Manuka Park Apartments

We really liked the clean, simple room, and the pool was amazing. The service was excellent too. It’s close to a park, about a 2-5 minute walk, and Manuka shops are around 5-10 minutes on foot or 2-5 minutes by car. A great place to stay.

I almost don’t want to share this find in case it’s harder to book next time. It sits between Manuka and Kingston, across the road from the fabulous Kingston Hotel, and a short walk from Manuka Oval and both areas’ restaurant precincts. The apartments suit couples, families and tour groups. Our golf group stayed here, and everyone said they’d happily return, which is unusual when a group usually has mixed opinions. The rooms are large, comfortable and equipped for short or longer stays. There’s also a lovely summer courtyard with a pool, and I especially liked the secure underground carpark. I was surprised they offered daily room tidying, which is unusual for apartments. Best of all, the people were accommodating, professional and very helpful. For the price and location, I can’t praise the place enough.

We stayed for a week at the end of September. It was quiet and comfortable, between Manuka and Kingston and handy for shops and dining. The pool looked very clean, though it was a little cold to swim; a few children did get in one day. Rooms could be tidied daily if you wanted, with clean towels, renovated bathrooms, a washing machine and dryer.

The location is wonderful, but that’s where the good points end for me. The apartments were old, run down and badly in need of renovation. It was so cold that we had to keep the heater at 28 degrees to avoid freezing, and the floor near the windows felt icy. The toilet kept running, all the dishes needed washing before use, and the stove couldn’t get a pot to boil unless we used two burners. The doonas and blankets looked old and stained. There was also a glass dining table whose top wasn’t attached to its legs. My toddler pushed on it, it fell on him and injured his foot, and we had to go to the ED. I’d avoid this accommodation.
