Pacific Surf

The beach view is amazing, and the building is right in front of the water. But the rooms are small and old, and they need renovation. The furniture is old too, and the place is poorly equipped. There’s no air conditioning, and the fans don’t do much, so I hope you don’t get hot weather. My room didn’t have a smart TV for the kids to watch a movie, though I think some rooms do. By the time you find these things out, it may be too late to ask to change rooms. If the view is all you need, it’ll do the job, but for a family holiday I don’t think it’s worth it. There are surely better options around.

Ann & Allan make you feel at home and do everything they can to make the stay as good, and as long, as possible. This is our favourite place to stay on the GC. It’s close to cafes and the Surf Club, and there’s now a lovely beachside path where you can walk for miles. Highly recommend for all ages.

The kitchen had everything we needed, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. We could walk to shops and places to eat, and the beach and its views made it a lovely spot to relax. The staff were friendly and even brought us pastries at Christmas. We’ll definitely visit again.

We’ve stayed here twice, and Allan and Ann were kind and helpful both times, even offering us a late checkout. The facilities are simple, clean and modern. It’s a brilliant spot on the best part of the coast, with no road noise, just the sound of the waves.
