Read the policy carefully before booking. I accidentally chose the cheap shared room through booking.com, and it wasn’t refundable, so I upgraded to a private room for $230. For a weekday, that felt expensive for an old, basic room with nothing fancy and no beach view. There was also a $150 deposit, and I wasn’t sure when it would be released because I was told that depended on how the bank handled it. That meant needing $380 for one night. I don’t recommend the place. This was my first and last visit. I came from Sydney to visit the cemetery because of the bad weather, otherwise there was no way I’d have come.

The good thing is it’s close to the water, which is quite beautiful. But the $150 security bond wasn’t clearly explained when we booked and only came up at the last minute. The kitchen was locked, so we couldn’t use it, and one of my mate’s bedsheets had stains.

I found the quality here didn’t justify the price increase. To me, it felt like prices were being pushed up to take advantage of the season, without a product that lived up to them. Just my opinion, of course.

I was careful about quiet hours during my stay at Ulladulla Harbour Motel from Saturday, 19 July to Sunday, 20 July. We were only having a quiet conversation, relatively early on Saturday night, not hosting a party. Still, I was accused of throwing one, and $500 was charged without clear evidence or a proper investigation. I object to the extra $350 in fees and the $150 bond being kept, especially since there was no prior communication, consent, or proper explanation. I wasn't told there was a problem during or after my stay. When I called to discuss it, the staff member was rude, unprofessional, and hung up on me mid-conversation. I consider the way this was handled unfair and distressing, and I'm pursuing legal action. I'm formally asking for my bond to be released immediately and the extra charges to be reversed in full. Based on this experience, I'd advise others to reconsider staying here.

We needed a last minute place for a few nights, and this worked perfectly. Everything was a short walk away, and there’s a lovely view at the end of the street. The room was immaculate, with a little fridge, microwave and kettle. The shower was warm and had great pressure, and we could park right by the door. The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. There’s also a sweet courtyard for sitting in the sun. A lovely motel in Ulladulla.
