A very welcome place to duck into during a thunderstorm. The decor and vibes were great, and so were the coffee and food. Gluten-free options can be hard to find while travelling around here, so I was delighted by the delicious GF cheesecake. Thanks as well for making me a GF toastie!

The restoration and interior design are beautiful, with lots of automotive memorabilia around. Comfortable tables, friendly service, good coffee and grog on tap. The menu was yummy and competitively priced.

It was an expensive, messy lunch, and a big disappointment. We were told the food would take 30 minutes, which was fine, but it ended up taking an hour. The wrap was a mess, the toastie was underwhelming and there were barely any chips. When the food finally came, the quality was poor. I asked about the order only to check we hadn't been forgotten or that something hadn't gone wrong with the till, since these things happen. The lady in the kitchen seemed stressed cooking orders and talking to staff, even though it wasn't a holiday. I don't know if the food was poor because I asked, or because we were tourists from out of town. Everyone else's food looked great, which made it a real shame.

At the Royal we had lovely coffee and sandwiches. The staff were very friendly, and the salmon sandwich was fantastic, a real work of art.

Walcha royal Cafe is full of antique things and has plenty of different places to sit. The staff were wonderful and accommodating, and the food was yummy with big portions. This has to be the best town I've come across on my travels up the coast. I'll definitely stop in again!
