Advance Motel

We were delighted that Advanced Motel Wangaratta could fit us in at the last minute with our cavoodle. The staff were kind and courteous, and said yes straight away. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed for the night. Thank you!

The gardens and pool were both very clean, and it was peaceful during our stay. The rooms are basic, but clean and hard to fault. Pet-friendly accommodation is limited when travelling, so we’ve returned here each year on our way to family in country Victoria. It had felt quite run-down last year, but this time it was much cleaner. One thing to check before paying: we were charged $40 for our small dog, though my husband’s confirmation email said $30. It wasn’t a big deal, and we’ll be back next year.

Millie the cat greeting us at reception was a lovely bonus. We stopped here on the last leg of a family holiday, after trying several places that week, and this one stood out for its good value, very clean rooms and fantastic welcome. We’ll stay again.

We paid $704.72 for two nights in a three-bedroom room, and it didn’t feel worth the cost. There was a strange smell when we arrived, perhaps smoke or pets, and I later found pet hair. At checkout I told the man, whose role I wasn’t sure of, that the room was dirty and poor value. He didn’t seem very concerned. Work laying carpet started before 8am on Sunday, with banging in the rooms below from around 8am that woke all of us, including the kids. I said this wasn’t acceptable. He said the work had to be done by 2pm, but they could have waited until guests checked out at 10am. I won’t be back.
