We spent five nights in the cottage. The air conditioners were already on when we arrived and worked a treat, the bed and pillows were comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed, including a good-sized fridge. Free laundry facilities were plentiful too. Without a vehicle, getting to town is a bit of a hike, and there were plenty of workmen around, so it didn't feel like a holiday setting. It was just right as a fishing shack. The Anchorage offers clean, comfortable accommodation without frills, and doesn't claim to be a five-star Hilton. Thanks, Gee and Stretch.

It's an older place, but it's well looked after and things get replaced when they break. I hadn't used a shared kitchen before, but it had enough utensils and suitable cooking equipment. I'd stay again.

We all got attacked by bed bugs. The advertised pool area was run down, with a broken deck and liner, and it hadn't been used for many years. Wi-Fi was advertised, but there was none.
