The quiet, scenic setting was just what we needed after a hard start to the year with illness and losses in the family. We could get away from the city, rest, and take things in. We booked Derwent Vista for my fiancée's birthday with a few friends, and it was far better than I expected. Four nights went by too quickly, and the location worked perfectly for our trip. The house was comfortable and lovely, with all the amenities we needed, and the calm atmosphere was hard to beat. Frankie was warm and knowledgeable, explained everything clearly, and was there if we needed help while giving us space otherwise. We'd happily come back, and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Hobart.

We even got out on the kayaks, and John was easy to reach, with great tips about things to do nearby. The property has beautiful views and was a great place to stay. Communication was excellent, and I'd book again if I'm back in Hobart. Thanks, John.

The view is incredible, and the house has plenty of room and is very well equipped. It was spotless when we arrived, and the host was friendly, patient, and went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. It's close to local shops and an easy drive to the CBD, making it a great fit for a family trip or a weekend with friends. One of the best houses I've stayed in.

We paid $6800 for a month and expected something much better than the run-down place we arrived to. It was so filthy that cleaning took several days before we felt even halfway comfortable celebrating Christmas there. We found mould in the fridge, and the oven took hours to clean. Very disappointing for the price. The owner, John, was obnoxious and intrusive, and dismissed our views and intelligence. When we raised how unhappy we were, he was abusive and wouldn't accept criticism. We have photos of the condition. I wouldn't stay again, and would tell others to think twice, as there was no reasoning with John.

John was a friendly, caring host, and the house had all the appliances our family needed. We loved the river views, walks and water activities, and found it an ideal base for reaching restaurants and places to explore. Getting into the city was an easy drive too. A fantastic spot and a lovely home away from home for families.
