There wasn’t much to do, though that’s coming from Adelaide. For dinner we went to hotel spencer and the eyre hotel. Both had great food, but the staff were quite unfriendly at each place. Our stay was great otherwise, and I’d most definitely recommend aligned corporate residences. We came down for a gymnastics competition and stayed three days. The staff were super friendly, helpful and welcoming when we arrived. We had two combined rooms for our family of four, with everything we needed: a kitchen, a nice balcony view, bathrooms, nice showers, laundry and a living room. The beds were super comfortable. It was quite hot, so we went down to the pool, which was great!

The reception guy made me uncomfortable by asking, “what brings you to Whyalla, and what do you do for work”. Just mind your own business and check guests in without the inquisition and invasion of privacy. I got three emails by the time I got home, with more to come. This is exactly why I’m reluctant to give businesses my email and phone number, as they seem to take it as a green light to harass you. I also had to chase them up to get my deposit back. Not good enough. I recently stayed in a one bedroom apartment and probably won’t stay again. The room was overpriced, with a view of saltbush and the back yard of a business. It wasn’t overly clean, and the appliances were cheap and nasty. There was no TV in the bedroom.

The place felt upmarket and private, and the bed was very comfortable. There were two hot water problems: it didn’t work in the shower, and the hot and cold taps were the wrong way round. The glass screen door was also hard to lock. Room 5A.
