Whyalla Country Inn Motel

It was okay as a place to rest while passing through town, and the beds were alright. There was no real service. Someone appeared remotely on a TV screen to talk to us, but they didn’t understand or speak English well. The lights didn’t work at all in one bedroom. The bathroom lights were broken too, and only worked after I put one end of the fluorescent fitting back together. Another room was missing its TV remote. The issues kept piling up.

We had five rooms for the family, and it was quiet while we were there. Although the outside looks old, it’s a budget place that was very clean, with comfortable beds. The cleaner was lovely and helpful, though I can’t remember her name. The location worked well while we travelled around the area. Having laundry and kitchen facilities was useful since the nearby pub was fully booked for meals. The keypad locks are a great idea for travellers arriving late, with no keys needed and all the details in the email they send.

Getting our luggage from the car park to our lower-level room was very convenient. We booked online, got the details by text, and could check in and out whenever suited us without going to reception. The rooms at Whyalla Country Inn Motel were dated but clean and tidy, just what we needed for a pleasant overnight stop on the way to Port Lincoln.
