It cost me $175, including an extra $25 a night for my dog, and now she needs a wash because she smells like the carpet. I’d sleep in my swag before staying there again. The place was overpriced and dirty. The bathroom smelled like an ashtray, even though I smoke, and its curtains were filthy. The carpet smelled and was dirty, the old lumpy pillows smelled like an old man’s head, and the bed was hard as a rock. Spare blankets were shoved unfolded under the TV. The aircon was really loud and dirty. Insects appeared between the sheets, so I slept in my sleeping bag. The toilet kept running, so you had to turn the plumbing off for any quiet. It took 15 minutes for the water to get hot.

I spent three weeks here with my dog and cat, and nothing was too much trouble. The staff were very friendly, it felt very safe, and I met some lovely guests. I’ve seen that a lot of updates are being done, including new a/c's and electrical work. It’s a small motel and isn’t marketed as the Ritz, but it is what it is, and I liked it. I have no qualms about coming back. Some of the other reviews I saw left me terribly disappointed.

The staff were really friendly and polite, but that’s where it stops. The place was nothing like the photos, and we were pretty disappointed. Mould in the bathroom could be smelled through the room whenever the door was open. The sink and mirror were cracked, and the mirror had a sharp exposed edge. The shower curtain was putrid, slimy and covered in mould. Cigarette smoke came into the room from people smoking outside. A light plug was completely broken, with live wires exposed about an inch from a metal bed frame.

Cleanliness and service were both 10/10. My little family had a lovely stay, and the place is pet friendly for just $25 a night. The staff are so lovely and ready to help whenever you need. Rooms were nice and clean, beds comfortable, and there’s a pool area and grass for the dogs and kids to run around. Highly recommend, and we’ll stay again next time we’re in Victoria.
