Handy for the shops, pubs, beaches and lake, and the pool area has a BBQ and tables. It's a relaxed, pet-friendly place. The rooms were pretty average, though they worked well for travelling with pets. Only one stovetop element was working while we were there, but we didn't raise it since it was Christmas. The receptionist was absolutely lovely. Thanks, Golf Place Inn.

The outdoor areas could use better upkeep, though reception was friendly and the price was okay. Inside, the room looked renovated and had bright lighting, including in the toilet. It stayed quiet at night even with our window facing the highway. The main problem was cleanliness: under the bed was dirty, and cracks by the floorboards let in lots of bugs. We only stayed one night but saw several kinds, including cockroaches. Without the bugs and dirty floor, our stay would have been much better.

I left the same day, less than a day into the two-day booking, and lost the cost of the remaining night. The room was filthy and nothing like the pictures. There was dog hair on the bed and floor, and the bathroom was musty, damp and smelled awful, with mold. The curtains smelled so dirty that touching them seemed like it would mean needing a shower. The wardrobes were also a worry, since clothes put in them would need washing straight away. When I handed back the key, nobody asked why I was leaving. The place was completely unsuitable, the worst experience I've had, and I wouldn't return even if it were free or they paid me. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Google should have a minus five star rating.

I paid over $700 for three nights and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. It was filthy and unreasonable to stay in. The pools and BBQ facilities were described to me over the phone as available, but both pools were out of order when I arrived. One was completely dry, as if it hadn't been used in ages, and the other was covered in algae. The BBQ area was dusty and looked unused too. The room smelled stale, and the bathroom was worse, very damp with mold everywhere, especially on the shower curtains, which were slimy and sticky. It made me feel sick every time I went in. The room kitchen had no sink, so I had to wash plates in the bathroom sink, and the bathroom water wasn't drinkable, so I had to buy a box of mineral water. They gave me two numbers to call for help, but when I called to ask for clean sheets, I was told the cleaners weren't available until midday. I was on holiday, so how could I just sit around waiting for them?
