Historic Quamby Homestead (c1888) is located approximately 20mins drive inland from The Great Ocean Road and Warrnambool, and 30 minutes drive inland from Port Fairy. Quamby provides an ideal destination for exploring this fascinating region, which also includes volcanic Tower Hill, historic Port Fairy and Koroit, whale watching at Logan's Beach in Warrnambool, or participating in one of the many festivals held in the South West district, before traveling onto The Grampians, Ballarat Goldfields, Melbourne or Adelaide and South Australia. Alternatively, relax and enjoy the local native wildlife (kangaroos, koalas, cockatoos, possums), watch cattle and horses graze in the paddocks, or take a stroll around the 2km property walk and 3acres of gardens. Whatever your preference, you are welcome to stay as long as you like, just be sure to come and experience Quamby, Aboriginal for resting place.

The place felt deserted and run down, and we didn’t see anyone during our 4 days and 3 nights there. There was no breakfast, and the rooms were dirty, with dust an inch thick behind the beds and on the toilet and bathroom floor. We’d stayed here a few times before and loved the beautiful green lawns and breakfast every morning, so this visit was a huge letdown. We left hungry and more than $1200 out of pocket 😞

A great spot for some R&R, with a choice of different accommodation around the property. The established old gardens are lovely to wander through if you have the time. Woolsthorpe’s nearby, and its little township has a wonderful pub with great meals and atmosphere. Such a scenic, relaxing place. Highly recommend 🥰.

We feel so lucky to have had our wedding at Quamby Homestead. We found it while looking for venues, and the gardens had such a calm, stylish feel. Our marquee, outdoor dancefloor, furniture, lanterns and candles all came alive in that setting. It made a magical backdrop for our day. Thank you Lisa!!

Our three kids loved seeing the animals and going on walks around the property. We also really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and the history of the area. The place was full of flies on the verandah of the property owners’ house, along the way to the cottages where we were meant to stay. After being handed a key, I opened the cottage door to find dust on the floor, webs, and an old house smell. The hosts were very unfriendly. The wife seemed to run things and was very bossy. I lost my accommodation charges because the bossy lady didn’t refund a cent. They were very quick to take the booking fee or accommodation charges. God bless, hope she’ll be rich with that. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE.
