The garden was a lovely place to sit, and there are plenty of outdoor spots to choose from depending on the weather. I really enjoyed how much birdlife there was. There’s a nice walk up the road to a view over the creek, and town is a quick drive for supplies. Inside, the bed was comfortable, the Wi-Fi worked well, and there were heaps of books and DVDs for a rainy day. All the amenities were good.

The birdlife and the view across the pasture were a real treat. My husband and I spent two nights at Candlebark Retreat, and the cottage gave us the chance to properly rest, which was just what we needed. It’s a lovely place for two, close to Beechworth and other places of interest. The cabin had everything we needed to cook for ourselves, though there are plenty of eateries in Beechworth if you’d rather go out for a meal.

There are lots of pleasant spots to sit outside and watch the birds or catch the sunset, with an outdoor BBQ and a well equipped kitchenette too. We stayed nine nights over New Year in this beautiful, private cottage, just a short drive from Beechworth. The proprietors were warm and generous, and gave us space while still being helpful. Highly recommended.

I loved the quiet, peaceful feel and the beautiful, completely private surroundings at Candlebark retreat. My partner and I stayed five nights in the cabin for two, which has an ensuite and kitchenette. It was well placed for everything we wanted to do in and around Beechworth.
