BIG4 Wye River Holiday Park

We had a relaxing weekend and I'm already keen to return, especially to try the safari tents. There's heaps to do around the large park, including a games room, gym, coffee truck, and playground. The newer cabins have some great touches, like heated bathroom floors, and there's a wide choice of places to stay. Staff were really welcoming too. Such an improvement since our last visit! :)

That brand-new cabin was seriously comfortable, with a stove, crockery, utensils, tea and coffee, plus big windows looking onto the forest floor. Luxury mattresses and white linen made it feel like a proper treat. Outside, most sites had their own firepit, and we sat beside the river with birds and kangaroos all around. The park had hosted a natural disaster just a fortnight earlier, but you'd hardly know it. A kookaburra even snatched my friend's sausage straight from her hand, they get that close! The bar in a converted 1960s caravan served slushies, cans, coffee and hot chocolate, and a musical trio played covers on bass, guitar and fiddle. We didn't need the huge camp kitchen or playground. What a lovely luxury weekend, thanks.

After eight years of staying at Big 4 Wye River, we were shocked by the lack of warning or communication during the 2026 floods. Guests were left without information in a dangerous situation. We found that irresponsible and unacceptable. The failure to act after years of loyalty showed a clear disregard for guest safety and completely destroyed our trust.

Our campsite had its own ensuite, and it was neat and clean. The concrete slab was a real plus, and the laundry was the best we've come across at a campsite. We'd definitely stay again.
