The Surf Yamba - boutique hotel

The third-floor Breakwater Room and Pippi Terrace are lovely places for morning coffee by the ocean or to catch the last sun with a red or chilled white you've brought along. The rooms make good use of the space and feel comfortable, and most have ocean views. The curved bathroom walls are a clever touch. The Surf is across the road from the beach, within walking distance of the Pacific Hotel and restaurants. Garry at reception is always welcoming and makes each stay more enjoyable. We've stayed several times and highly recommend it as our go-to accommodation in Yamba.

Gary, the manager, was fantastic, helpful with our questions and available after hours, which we really appreciated. We were a family of four with two teenagers, staying in two beach-facing rooms for six nights in December just before Christmas. The views were stunning, and the hotel suited the teenagers well. It was a chance for all of us to slow down and enjoy the beach. The rooftop pool and shared kitchen, both looking out to the ocean, were a real highlight. The rooms were a good size, with balconies and gorgeous interiors. We loved the small extras: Turkish beach towels, a tote bag for our stay, a minibar replenished daily at no charge, snacks, tea, coffee, biscuits, apples and even e-bikes. The boutique hotel has a relaxed beach feel and thoughtful design. It's opposite the beach and within walking distance of the other beaches and town, a perfect spot for a beach holiday. We also drove about 20 minutes to Maclean, where we found a small Japanese sushi bar. The sushi was easily a 10 out of 10 and well worth the trip. Maclean was a lovely town to explore, and the sushi was some of the best we've had. We had a beautiful stay and highly recommend it.

Garry was really friendly and helpful. The ocean-view rooms are beautiful, and it felt like someone had thought of every detail. The rooftop lounge and pool looked stunning at sunset. We absolutely loved our stay, 10/10.

The hotel's location and relaxed, well-kept feel made the stay even more enjoyable. We appreciated the thoughtful details and welcoming atmosphere. Check-in went smoothly, the room was comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit. Thanks for a lovely stay. We'd happily return and recommend the hotel.
